Questions Asked By You

What makes Himalayan Wildflower Honey different from regular honey?

Himalayan wildflower honey differs in origin, harvest method, and composition. Wild bee species, Apis cerana produces it, it is harvested traditionally and it doesn't undergo any processing. The bees feed on alpine flora of remote forests, common ones being Rudilo flowers and mountain blooms. The honey retains natural enzymes and pollen, with layered floral, herbal, and subtle spicy notes.

Is this honey raw and unprocessed?

Authentic Himalayan wildflower honey is raw and unprocessed. Its harvesting is done from traditional wooden log hives where the honey shelters- it never gets heated, pasteurized, or filtered. As a result of this, natural enzymes, bee pollen, and beneficial compounds are preserved in it.

What does this honey taste like?

Himalayan wildflower honey is quite different in terms of taste- complex and bold- a feature not found in single-source honeys. The rich floral sweetness the honey has gets a subtle herbal undertone and mild spicy notes from alpine medicinal plants. The flavor is a little different in each season based on the wildflowers in blossom. It has a unique creamy, smooth texture and lingering finish.

How is this honey harvested?

The traditional harvesters from remote mountain regions of Nepal collect the Himalayan wildflower honey. They collect honey manually- the handmade wooden log hives are in deep forest areas, where wild Apis cerana naturally shelter. The process holds minimal disturbance to the bees and strictly is based on sustainable practices.

Why is this honey more expensive than regular honey?

Several factors account for the premium price of wildflower honey. Remote, inaccessible harvesting sites, less production by wild Apis cerana bees, labor-intensive traditional harvesting, and no additives to stretch the yield are primary deriving factors. Furthermore, the limited supply combined with growing global demand for authentic, traceable honey also affects pricing.

How can I tell if this honey is authentic?

The real characteristics of the real Himalayan wildflower honey are: creamy, slightly thick, complex floral and herbal aroma and golden-amber color. It has high moisture content and can easily crystallize over time - just a sign of raw, unprocessed honey. Sourcing transparency also speaks a lot about authenticity.

Does this honey crystallize?

Yes, it's normal for Himalayan wildflower genuine raw honey to crystallize- it's because it isn’t processed. This means existing sugar crystals are not dissolved and can easily become thicker and grainy. The wildflower honey crystallizes at varying rates depending on its floral composition and storage temperature.

How should I store this honey?

The accurate way to store Himalayan wildflower honey is at room temperature, airtight, in a cool, dry place- far from direct sunlight. Don't refrigerate, as it speeds up crystallization. To keep away moisture, always use a dry, clean spoon.
