Where roads end. Where silence is heavy. Where survival depends on respect -  for land, for bees, and for each other.

Himalayan Cliff Honey begins in one of those places.

Where It All Began

Our story began in the hills and forests of Nepal.

We come from the second generation of a family of beekeepers and we grew up hearing extraordinary stories of traditional honey hunters who climbed steep cliffs to harvest wild honey from giant Himalayan bees. This stayed as a quiet curiosity for a long and without waiting for too long, we decided to turn it into a lifelong commitment. In our journey dedicated to working closely with both local beekeepers and honey-hunting communities, we returned to the roots, traveling deep into the mountains just to find local traditions and way of life.

We started our journey with a clear motive: respect the bees, protect nature, and support the people who have practiced this craft for generations. As we know from depth what matters- we honor heritage, livelihood, and responsibility.

Born of Nature: Harvested with Courage

Dwellers of the Himalayas, the Himalayan giant honeybees (Apis laboriosa) forage on the alpine and subalpine flowers. Also known as the largest honeybee species, they build their nests on high cliffs thousands of feet above ground, producing a honey unlike anything found elsewhere.

The Gurung and Magar communities, the mountain natives are the original honey hunters with the tradition passed down from the generations. Each season as the harvesting day arrives, the community sets out for the forests taking along self-made hand-woven rope ladders, ancient wooden tools, and hearts steady enough to face the giants.

We work directly with these local honey-hunting communities with a commitment to fair trade practices. Deeply studied, their practices favor sustainability, and by collaborating with them, we ensure a system that is aligned with modern standards of safety, traceability, and sustainability.

Rooted in Respect - For People & Planet

We are more than a honey brand - we are a community-oriented business.

Sustainability first - Our honey is harvested in traditional ways that in the best ways possible protect bee colonies and the alpine environment.

Community empowerment - We collaborate with honey-hunters and beekeepers across Nepal.

Fair and transparent partnerships - Local hunters and beekeepers who work with us receive fair compensation- no profit cut by middlemen, all the safety support they require, and related training.

Global connection, local impact - While our honey reaches homes around the world, its benefits flow back to the Himalayan families who make it possible.

Traceable to the Source

We know where our honey comes from because we are there.

Each harvest is linked to:
