Traceability

At Himalayan Cliff Honey, we are rooted in nature, people, and tradition. Every jar comes directly from native cliffside hives in Nepal, carefully harvested by experienced Gurung, Magar, and Chhetri honey hunters using centuries-old techniques.

Our cliff honey is collected once or twice a year, handled in small batches, and stored in certified units to preserve its natural enzymes, bioactive compounds, and delicate flavor with minimal processing.

Each jar includes a QR code that allows you to trace your honey back to its harvest region, season, and the beekeeper. The code also provides batch details and third-party quality testing information, ensuring full transparency from the cliff to your jar.

Questions Asked By You

What is Cliff Honey?

Cliff Honey(mad honey) is wild Himalayan honey harvested from cliff faces at extreme altitudes. Our Rukum harvest originates from the Dhaulagiri ranges near Sisne mountain- a remote land known as the "place of 52 lakes and 53 hills." Budha Magar and Chhetri communities work together to collect this rare honey from 3,000 to 4,000 meters, among the highest-altitude cliff honeys available.

What does our honey taste like?

This harvest has a distinctive flavor complexity- it carries floral notes of both red and white rhododendrons. Dark amber colored with thick, mild texture and rich, aromatic depth, expect the honey to deliver balanced sweetness with subtle earthy undertones — fuller bodied than lighter varieties but smoother than intensely bitter options.

How is our honey different from regular honey?

Regular honey is commercially farmed, heated, and filtered — the extreme processes hold power to destroy natural properties. The wild cliff honey comes from giant Himalayan bees foraging on untouched mountain flora. This honey undergoes no heat treatment, filtration, or additives. The dark color, thick texture, and complex aroma reflect a genuine high-altitude origin impossible to replicate commercially.

What dosage is recommended for this honey?

All new users should start with one teaspoon, combined with food. Later, the dose can be gradually increased to the standard daily serving size of one tablespoon per day. Individual sensitivity varies.

Who should avoid our product?

Himalayan cliff honey is not considered suitable for: pregnant or breastfeeding women and children under 18. Individuals with heart conditions, hypotension, or cardiac medications also need to start consuming it only on physician's clearance. For prospective surgery patients, discontinue honey use two weeks prior to surgery. This product is strictly for healthy adults so consult a doctor if you have any health concerns.

How should I consume this honey?

Take on an empty stomach or with lukewarm water below 40°C. Avoid taking it with alcohol. Both morning and evening consumption is okay. This product should be used sparingly and responsibly.

How should I store this honey?

Himalayan Cliff Honey should be stored airtight at room temperature, and should be strictly kept away from heat and direct sunlight. Don't refrigerate it as the cold can accelerate the crystallization of sugars in it. Always use a clean, dry spoon and in case of crystallization, warm the jar gently in lukewarm water to restore smooth consistency.

How does my purchase support local communities?

Honey hunting is the primary income source for Budha Magar and Chhetri families in this region. We source directly from these villages ensuring fair compensation and sustainable practices. The entire communities collaborate during harvest season- following long-established practices. Every jar you purchase sustains livelihoods and preserves their irreplaceable cultural heritage.
